Smoothies in mason jars

I wanted to share my top five favorite healthy and delicious smoothies with you today.  Who doesn't love a smoothie?  These smoothies are sure to provide a refreshing and healthy breakfast, snack or anytime mini-meal.  I hope you enjoy!  Please let me know what your favorite is...or if you have a favorite smoothie recipe to share... in the comment section.

strawberries and bananas

1. Strawberry~Banana

6 fresh or frozen strawberries

1 banana

1 cup vanilla yogurt

6 ice cubes

Mix fruit in blender.  Add yogurt until blended.  Add ice cubes, one at a time to desired consistency.  Enjoy!

 

pina colada smoothie

2. Pina Colada Smoothie

1 cup Dole pineapple juice

1/2 cup  shredded coconut

1 cup vanilla yogurt

1 cup Dole pineapple chunks

1 1/2 cups of ice

Mix pineapple juice with coconut in blender.  Add yogurt and pineapple chunks until well blended.  Add ice slowly and blend until desired consistency.  Enjoy!

 

Protein smoothie

3.  Protein Smoothie

1 cup quartered strawberries (or other desired fruit; my fav is mixed frozen berries)

1 banana

1 cup vanilla yogurt

1/2 cup oats

1/8 cup flax seed

1 1/2 cup of ice

Mix fruit in blender.  Add yogurt, oats and flax seed.  Gradually add ice to desired consistency.  *For more protein punch, you can add a Tbs of peanut or almond butter. Enjoy!

 

Orange julius

4. Orange Julius

2 cups of orange juice

1/2 cup of milk

1/2 cup of vanilla yogurt

2 Tbs. sugar

1 tsp. vanilla extract

2 1/2-3 cups of ice

Mix all ingredients and blend to desired consistency.  Enjoy!

 

tropical smoothie

5. Easy Tropical Smoothie

1 (15.25oz.) can of Dole tropical fruit, drained

1 cup ice cubes

1 cup vanilla yogurt

1/2 cup shredded coconut

Mix ingredients in blender.  Blend to desired consistency and enjoy!

 

With summer underway, a great way to enjoy smoothies anytime is to take any of the above recipes, pour them into Popsicle molds, and freeze them as a cool treat! smoothie popcicles
